A lithium battery would be the best fit for your golf cart, but why? There are many stories about lithium batteries. De dangerous sides, the extreme high price and more. Just like in the time of AIS, most of these stories are made up because it is a relatively new product. However the lithium battery has become an important power source in water sports and any kind of sport. Like golf carts, which mostly drive on wed soil and in the early morning, a lithium battery is the best option.

We made described all the know how’s of lithium batteries: A lithium battery or lion battery is a portable power source that is mostly used in consumer electronics and electrical cars. They are used in these industries because of the closed power supply and the long lifespan. There are however also some disadvantages regarding these type of batteries. The battery should never be discharged longer than 5 days. This will make the battery slow and insufficient. This is why most lithium batteries use a battery management system which takes care of loading and unloading the battery. This in contradiction off, for example a nikkel metal hybrid battery which is dispensable with an AA or AAA battery. The most common battery is an Li-ion batter. This battery is somewhat more mature than a lithium battery, but not as good.

The best way of explaining why a lithium battery is the best fit for your golf cart is with an example: A good AGM 200ah service battery costs around $500. At a normal usage your battery should not be discharged more than 50% and with an average lifespan is will get to 400-500 dischargers. A lifespan of 5 years will be the standard. For a lithium battery the specifications are somewhat different. They cost around $800 and at a normal usage they can have 200AH and 12.100BT. Next to this, a led battery will last at least 10 years.
